I was wondering if there is a list of deaths in Ventura, for around 1888, looking for a Mrs. McMillan, the wife of a John McMillan, a Episcopal Minister. She is reported to of died, when her daughter Grace, was one year old, who was born March 14, 1887. The daughter was then adopted by a aunt Jennie Green, of Santa Barbara, and Green was the last name, she graduated from U.C. in 1908. She married a Wiley Casey Dorris, in 1913, and they were to move to Bakersfield, where she was one of the four first women to be elected to the California State Assembly, in 1918.
