Folks, the beta test migration of SOCAL-L from SmartList to Mailman software occurred a few minutes ago. I'm still checking out the admin pages but there are a few changes you should know about right away: 1) The admin address is now SOCAL-L-admin@rootsweb.com (no longer SOCAL-admin@rootsweb.com). Please address ANY issues you see with the way you are receiving your list mail, digests, or other comments/concerns to BOTH SOCAL-L-admin@rootsweb.com AND ybowers@comcast.net so I'm sure to get the message. 2) Currently you can subscribe to the list in one or both modes (list or digest) using the same address. Now you can only be subscribed in one or the other (not both) using one address so I believe if you were subbed to SOCAL in both, you will be converted to list. Any of you experiencing this change, let me know. 3) The delay was caused by retooling the digests. If you are on digest version and see any anomalies, let me know. SOCAL is a list for discussion of history and genealogy in SOuthern CALifornia. Please send any issues regarding the beta directly to me, not to the list.
