Wattenbarger Services: Tues., Dec. 29, 10 a.m. Roy Jacob Wattenbarger was the beloved husband of 59 years to Helen B. Wattenbarger of Bakersfield. he was the loving father of Joanne Miller and Jan Theiste of Bakersfield and father-in-law of Don Miller. He was also the cherished grandfather of five grandchildren, David and Desiree Miller from Portland, Oregon; Crissy and Robbie Lopez from Great Falls, Montana; Greg and Leslie Vertin of Morgan Hills, CA; great grandchildren, Dustin and Clint of Morgan Hills, CA Preceded in death by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Wattenbarger, his brother Doyle Wattenbarger and his son Jon Roy Wattenbarger, he was the dear brother of Lester and Ralph Wattenbarger, both of Bakersfield. Roy was an avid hunter and fisherman traveling from Alaska to Mexico. He was a lifetime member of the B.P.O.E. He was a building contractor and subdivider for over 50 years in the Bakersfield area. He was a native of Niota, Tennessee, age 84 years. Donations may be made to the charity of choice in lieu of flowers. Friends and family are invited to attend funeral services at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1998 at Greenlawn Cemetery Chapel, 3700 River Blvd. Bruce Cushing will officiate.
