The Bakersfield Californian Thursday, August 26, 1943 Pg. 13 BROOKS DEATH RULED ACCIDENT BY CORONER An inquest into the death of James Perry Brooks was conducted today and a verdict of "accidental" was determined by Coroner N. C. Houze. Mr. Brooks died late Tuesday night after being fatally burned in an explosion of a butane tank at the Houchin Farms near Buttonwillow Tuesday morning.
