Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Monday at the VFW Hall, Mojave, for Arthur Carl Best, 52, of 16590 Sarah St., Mojave, who died Jan. 26 at a Bakersfield hospital. Officers of the Elks Club of Mojave will officiate. Mr. Best was a native of Pennsylvania and had resided in the Mojave community the past four years where he owned and operated a service station. He was a charter member of the Mojave Elks Lodge No. 2059 and was a member of the Lutheran Church. Survivors include his widow, Esther Best of the home address; two daughters, Carlene Best of Mojave and Ramona Jo Lagomarsino of Ventura; mother, Mrs. Helen Best of Ventura; and sister, Dorothy Lichau of Ventura. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Ivy Lawn Cemetery, Ventura, by Lutheran Church minister of Ventura. Interment will be at Ivy Lawn Cemetery, Ventura.
