I have found the SS application to be the more accurate of the documents. Many times for the marriage certificates, the person gives the current address, sometimes put down as the place of birth, which really confuses the issue. I'd send a request to the state listed as his birth state on the app, along with his DOB given there as well as parents names. My track record for finding relatives, death or birth, on the internet lists is about 50/50. Good hunting! Roberta
