Just for clarification - the above name is GERTRUDES GARCIA. Sometimes those old names can be so difficult to decipher. I believe this DELFINA to be MARIA DELFINA GARCIA who married DONANCIANO AVILA of San Juan Capistrano. They lived a bit in Capistrano, owned property on El Camino Real. We have copy of the deed. DELFINA then lived in San Luis Rey with their 12 or 14 children. Only one of their son's, JOSE AVILA, returned to Capistrano where many of his descendents still reside. We have a few photos of DELFINA GARCIA de AVILA if anyone is interested. The JUAN CANEDO listed with GARCIA family is from the old CANEDO Family of Santa Barbara. He too lived in Capistrano for some yrs. This is perhaps far more info than anyone wants to know, but it surfaced as I read the 1860 Los Nietos census. Hope this helps some researcher.
