My name is Mary Rogness-Stickney I am looking for information on my father who died when I was 2 years old. His name was Robert Roy Rogness, born 02/15/1927 somewhere died 11/22/1963 Iowa City Iowa. He applied for a Social Security Card in 1954 in Rugby North Dakota. On his Social Security Card application it says: He was born Big Rapids Michigan Father: Robert John Rogness Mother: Alice McKinzie birth date: 02/15/1927 On his and my Mothers marriage certificate it says: He was born Goldstone Montana Father: Gulleck Sven Rogness Mother: Rose Swenson birth date: 02/15/1927 I have also just found out that, my father and my grandfather were in a bar together. After my father left , a man came up to my grandfather and told him that he knew my father when he lived in California and had 4 kids. My uncle had gone with my father on several occasions in the moving truck. My father was always looking for places with Western Union. Also everyone states they though he looked older than he claimed to be. But that could be from the Brain tumor he had. He named my brother Robert John Rogness. So I think the Social Security card info is correct. I can't prove it though. I have never found a birth certificate in Montana, Michigan, North Dakota. Nor found any of these names on the Social Security Death index, 1920 Montana Census, phone listing, Familysearch.org, Rootsweb, ancestry.com , kindred connection...... ect I have snail mailed 262 Rogness's listed at www.anywho.com. I got a few answers , but no relatives.
