Folks, this is indeed sad news. This message was posted on the CA-Nevada County list by <Fiebar@aol.com> (I'm sorry - I don't have his/her real name). Patricia (or PJ as many of us knew her) was a tireless genealogist very dedicated to the Gold Rush and California history. She asked me to take over her CA-GOLDRUSH lists and the California Goldrush Most Wanted web site when she became really sick (a year or two ago) with her hopes of later on feeling up to taking them back. Later, when that wasn't possible, I had the privilege of keeping them. We will miss her greatly.
