Hewes Rites Tomorrow Ex-Encinitas Postmaster Private graveside services for former Encinitas Postmaster Joseph Lon Hewes, 85, will be tomorrow at El Camino Mortuary under the auspices of the American Legion and San Dieguito United Methodist Church. Mr, Hewes died Sunday in a hospital. He was born in Kansas and had lived in the county 53 years. he was an army veteran of World War II. From 1923 to 1941 he worked as a horseshoer in Los Angeles and San Diego counties. He was appointed Encinitas postmaster in April 1942 and remained in that post until MAy 1958. He was a life member and past commander of American Legion Post 416 and was a member of World War I Barracks and the retired Postmasters Association. Survivors include his wife, Edith; two daughters, Betty Sturdevan of Encinitas and Kathryn Butler of San Diego; two sisters, six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Encinitas Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. The family suggests contributions to the San Diego chapter of the American Cancer Society. Elnor Warnock Services for Elnor Wornock, 83, of North Park, will be tomorrow at 11:45 a.m. at First United Presbyterian Church, followed by burial in Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. Mrs. Warnock died Sunday in a hospital. Born in Massachusettes, she had lived in the county for 61 years. For 25 years, she was a secretary for an ophtalmologist. She belonged to the San Diego Zoological Society; the San Diego Historical Society, the National Heights Chapter of the Eastern Star and the Optometric Assistance Association. She was a 30-year member of the First United Presbyterian Church and served on the board of deacons. Surviving are a son, Charles of San Diego; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Cypress View-Bonham Brothers Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements. The family suggests contributions to the Restoration Fund of the First United Presbyterian Church. Elizabeth Jones Davidson Services for Elizabeth Jones Davidson, 79, of El Cajon, will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Fletcher Hills Presbyterian Church, followed by entonibment in Cypress Hills Mausoleum. Mrs. Davidson died yesterday in a convalesant hospital. She was born in South Carolina and had lived in the county for more than 50 years. A homemaker, she belonged to the Junior League, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Committee of 100, Country Friends, the Opera Guild, the San Diego Symphony Association, the YMCA and Kappa Alpha Theta. Surviving are two sons, one sister, five grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Cypress View-Bonham Brothers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests contributions to any organizations to which she belonged. Roy J. Pratte Services for Roy Joseph Pratte, 53, a salesman fro Cresent Foods, will be tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Neptune Society Chapel in El Cajon. Cremation was planned. Mr. Pratte doed yesterday in his Clairemont home. A native of Missouri, he had lived in the county for 25 years. He served 28 years in the Navy, including World War II, and the Vietnam War. He was last stationed at the Naval Training Center here. He belonged to the Retired Officers Association and was a memeber of Greenpeace. Surving are his wife, Arnette, two daughters, Jodie and Stephanie, both of San Diegol a son, Marc of San Diego, and three sisters. The family suggests contributions to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals, Greenpeace or Navy Relief. I. Zolezzi funeral conducted The Rosary was recieted and a mass said today for Italo Giuseppe Zolezzi, 83, of Hillcrest, at Our Lady of the Rosary Roman Catholic Church, folloewd by entombment in the Holy Cross Mausoleum. Mr. Zolezzi died Friday at a convalesant hospital. Goodbody Mortuary was in charge of all arrangements. A native of Italy, he had lived in the county for 59 years. He was owner-operator for 30 years at Italdo's groceries on India Street. He was a member of the Italian merchant marines in World Was I, a block captian in the auxiliary police in San Diego during World War II, and a memeber of the Balboa PArk Senior Citizens Club. Surviving are his wife, Augusta, two daughters, Rose Tait and Louise Dentone, both of San Diego, one son, Thomas of San Diego; a sister, two grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. G.E. Minford Private services for George E. Minford, 77, of San Diego, will be tomorrow at 3 p.m. at Trinity Prtsbytrian Church. Cremation was planned, with the ashes to be scattered at sea. Mr. Minford diedFriday. He had lived in the country for 47 years. He was a plumber. Survivors incluse his wife, Hazel, one son, William of San Diego, two daughters, Patricia Murphy and Mary Polk both of San Diego; one sister and nine grandchildren. The family suggests contributions to the church. K. Moyer services Thursday Services for Kenneth W. Moyer, 78, a retired Union Tribune printer, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lewis Colonial-Benbough Mortuary, followed by burial in Glen Abbey Memorial Park. Mr. Moyer died yesterday in his Normal Heights home. He was born in Indiana and had lived on the county 71 years. He was a plumber before entering the printing business, in which he worked for 50 years. He began as a printer's apprentice at the San Diego Sun and later went to the Progress Journal. During World War II, he interrupted his printing career for a stint at Convair painting fuselages, but returned to printing with a job at the Union Tribune Publishing Co., where he worked for 21 years. He belonged to the Rowing Club and the International Typographical Union. Surviving are his wife, Verna, and a son, David, both if San Diego.
