Hello List Members... On Oct 21, 1892, there was big "Columbia Day" celebration in downtown Los Angeles. This was to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Columbus's arrival in the "New World". A fireworks show was organized. Well, you can guess the rest. Some rockets exploded, shooting shrapnel into the crowd. About eight people were killed, mostly young boys who were close to the box of rockets. Does anyone here have relatives that died on Oct 21, 1892?
