Meudell Lodge 695 will officiate with George Uhler as worshipful master. Interment will follow in the Masonic section in Union Cemetery. The deceased was a native of Tennessee and had lived in Bakersfield for 39 years. He was, for 26 years, a Lieutenant with the Bakersfield Police Department, having retired only a year ago. At present he was a deputy sheriff serving as dispatcher for the Sheriffs Office. He was a member of Meudell Lodge 695 F&AM, the municipal Motorcycle Association, Kern County Shrine Club, Masonic Order of Scottish Rite, retired member of Bakersfield Police Benefit Association, Southern California Scafo Fingerprint Association, Kern County employees Benefit Association and State Private Investigators Association. Survivors include his widow Florence; son John H. Fr. Bakersfield; stepdaughters Betty Montgomery, Bakersfield and Florence Chesebrough, Newhall; two sisters Grace Reader of Santa Monica and Ruth Croson, Long Beach. Pallbearers will be Morris G. Seamon, W. K. Willis, C. Y. Benson, Al Strassner, Charlie H. Dodge and Fred H. Cronkhite.
