Toal) Bakersfield Californian, Thursday, May 28, 1953 Bishop, Wiley - Services will be held for Wiley Bishop, Friday at 2 p.m. at the Full Gospel Tabernacle at Stockdale and Orange St. in Arvin with the Rev. Dwight Brown officiating. Mr. Bishop died May 27 in a hospital. He was born March 11, 1875, in Lanassa County, Texas. He was a retired peace officer who had served with the Texas Rangers and later as constable of Arvin area. He had lived in the state for 25 years, 18 of which were in this county. He is survived by his widow Mrs. Edna Bishop at 201 Meyers St., Arvin; three sons, Arnold bishop of Arvin, Lavert Bishop of McFarland and Howard Snyder of Sebastian, Texas; two daughters Mrs. Vivian Swain and Mrs. Ray Choate of Bakersfield, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one sisters in Houston Texas.
