Varela, Sr, 58, 1817 Crawford Street, who died Friday in a Bakersfield hospital. Rev. Daniel De Dominics will officiate and interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Varela was a native of Mexico and had resided in California for 26 years. He was employed by Haberfelde Ford for 26 years as an auto painter and was foreman of the paint department. Mr. Varela was a member of the Mexican-American Golf Association and the Bakersfield Public Golf Course. Survivors include his widow Isabel; two sons Mike Varela, Jr. of California City and Guillermo Varela of Bakersfield; a daughter Virginia Gonzales of San Jose; three grandsons and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jack Pertif, John Oroslas, Frank Canas, Luke Higgins, Joe Kennedy, and Lawrence Ortega. Honorary pallbearers George Marantos and Augustine Martinez. Sharon Kern Co. Volunteer
