Does anyone have access to any records in the Imperial Valley from 1880-1910? I have been told that my grandfather's family farmed there and at least one of the men were making their living as 'Water Witches'. The names that I have are Richard Coleman JOHNSON, Richard Marvin JOHNSON, and Charles T. BRADY. Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Melinda
Hello from Imperial Valley! Don't know why but when I saw the Brady & Johnson on the icon at the bottom of the screen, it had a familiar ring to it. ....or, perhaps, it's just too early in the morning. Anyway, I will check into this for you. I'll start by searching through the 1931 book by Otis Tout, The First Thirty Years(of Imperial Valley). I have an original. Our local library has several other old books on the valley too. Be in touch after the Salton Sea International Bird Festival is over.
