Joe - the brother's name would be Vanzel SPENCE, if his mother kept his father's name. However, the divorce occurred when he was very young so I have to consider that he may have grown up with the name of his step-father. Also, a strange event occurred about twenty years ago while we were still living in Central California. A man who was only slightly acquainted with my husband told him....."you know you have a twin brother walking around in Southern California don't you"? Without thinking, my husband just laughed, said no, and sort of forgot about it until later. I went to this gentleman and asked a few questions about this "twin". He told me that back in the late 1950's or 1960s he was acquainted in Ventura, California, with a man who "not only was the spitting image of my husband, he walked like him and he talked like him".....you could have knocked me over with a feather when he told me his name: Van !!! He was certain that the guy's name had been Van Foster. Of course, it really isn't likely that this was the brother but stranger things have happened. Anyway, thanks for asking.
