    3. A great benefit to California genealogists and family historians can be found by joining a "Tour of the Special Collections", when offered by UC Libraries, statewide. As an example, currently, there is a presentation under the direction of the Yolo County Historical Society. It is offering a General Meeting to its members, a cordial invitation to visit the Special Collections in the Shield Library, Davis Campus of the University of California; Sunday, January 14, 2001, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Parking is free on Sundays. It is worth the annual $12 Individual or $15 Family Membership, just to enjoy the ambiance and review the available historical resources. "Rebecca Wendt, UCD Archivist, will display and show how to access the many items of information about Yolo County history. A highlight will be a viewing of . . . thousands of photographs donated from the Eastman collection in Susanville, California." Additional reference information on genealogy and family history is located at the Davis City Library Branch [Genealogy Section], of the Yolo County Library system, in Davis, California.
