Ritchie, Sr.) Bakersfield Californian, Friday, February 25, 1955 Whiston, Herbert Leonard - Funeral services will be conducted in Greenlawn Chapel at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow for Herbert Leonard Whiston, 63, 401 Balsam Avenue who died in his home Feb. 23. Dr. B. C. Barrett will officiate. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The deceased was a native of Williamstown, W. VA and had resided in Bakersfield since 1928. He was a member of the Baptist Church and was Vice President of the Alta Knolls Oil Co. Inc; member of Coalinga Lodge F & AM Al Malikah Temple, Los Angeles; Bakersfield Shrine Club; Elks Club; and was a charter member of the Jonathan Club in Los Angeles. Survivors include his widow Mabel Whiston, Bakersfield; two sons Herbert Leonard Whiston, Jr., Bakersfield, Kenneth Whiston, Iowa; a daughter, Mrs. LaFonda Orland, Los Angeles; brother Raleigh Whiston, Los Angeles; grandchildren, Leonard Whiston III and Linda Whiston both of Bakersfield, and Melvina Riley Delores Whiston of Los Angeles. Masons will be active pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Tracy Gorham, Willard Johns, Harold Binnell, Ernest Brown, Fred Metzger, Bert Doughty, Robert Henry, H. T.
