Willard - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Doughty-Calhoun-O'Meara Mortuary for J. Willard Jacks, 86, of 300 1/2 I Street who died January 31 at home. The Reverend D. W. McElroy of the First Christian Church will officiate, Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The deceased was a native of Ironton, Ohio and had lived in Bakersfield the past 43 years and in California since 1912. He was a retired plumbing contractor. He was a member of the First Christian Church ad belonged to the Masonic Lodge in Lawton, Okla. Surviving are his widow Lottie Jacks of the home address; two sons, W. G. Jacks, M.D. of Bakersfield and L. D. Jacks of La Jolla; one daughter, Mrs. Vesta Lou Clevenger of Long Beach; 4 grandchildren, John Boss of Modesto, Sandra and Beverly Jacks of La Jolla and Richard Lu Allen of Norwalk; and 2 grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Earl Bazzell, Frank Chamberlin, Robert Rude, Forrest Reed, Allan Watts and Frank Peirson. She was a member of the original Kern Chapter of Order Eastern Star and was one of the oldest members of the First Christian Church. Her husband J. Willard Jacks died in 1962. survivors include two sons, Dr. W. G. Jacks of Shafter and L. D. Jacks of La Jolla; a daughter, Mrs. Vesta Lou Clevenger of Long Beach; three grandchildren; a step-grandson; 4 great grandchildren; 3 step-great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
