Fred was born in Aquilla, Texas on Sept. 5, 1894 and came to California in 1926. He settled in the Taft-Maricopa area in 1935, at which time he worked for the Alford Oil Company. In 1950 Fred and his two son, T. L. Jamieson and Jay Jamieson, began a farming operation in the Maricopa Flats area. Fred retired from farming in 1961. Throughout his life, Fred and his loving wife Bea were avid Western horse enthusiasts. They took many trips into the High Sierras back country. For many years, Fred was an active participant in various local rodeo and horse events. Fred was preceded kin death by his wife Beulah and sons T. L. Jamieson and Jay Jamieson. He is survived by his grandsons, Tom Jamieson and wife Terri of Bakersfield, Bernie Jamieson of Bakersfield, Pat Jamieson of Taft and Scott Jamieson of Barstow, granddaughters Carole Artale and husband T.
