Charles was an athletic coach and instructor in the Kern Union High School District for 34 years. He served in the Navy 1943-1946 and retired as a Lt. Commander. He sang bass in the Anchor Four quartet along with beloved friends Ed Hemmerling, Judd Fleming, and Joe Coleman. Mr. Flanagin was an elder in the Presbyterian church and a life member of CTA and NRTA. After hitting Morgan, highway patrol official say,the motorcycle went out of control and crashed to the guard rail, throwing the two riders off. Patrol Officers H. L. Stumbaugh and L. H.
