Hello I would love to have the url for the Los Angeles Library as I have some research to do also, but I would think that you should be able to either call them or send an email requesting the copies of the articles. Most libraries have a section that will copy newspaper articles, for a fee of course. Laura Siskiyou County

    3. I am trying to help locate my second cousin’s birth mother, Caroline (or Carolyn) Janet Bailey. My cousin was born Anna Louise Padilla, daughter of Benico Teodore Padilla and Caroline (or Carolyn) Janet Bailey at the Los Angeles General Hospital on 22 July 1965. The couple also had baby born (stillborn) at the General Hospital on 18 September 1966. My cousin’s parents were married in Tijuana, México between 1963-64, but when her father went to get a divorce from his wife (abandonment), they marriage was not on the books and found the marriage was never legal. Here is the information known about Carloyn (or Caroline) Janet Bailey. The couple was living in Rowland Heights at the time she ran off with a neighbor (who she was having an affair with, his name is unknown). Carloyn had older boys from an earlier marriage (or natural son of her) named Ricky and Michael. We are not sure if they were full brothers or half brothers, but they were born about 1962 and 1963, (the boys’ ages were about little over 1 year apart). Lisa (AKA Anna Louise) said that she was named after both her grandmothers. Her father’s mother name is Anna, so assume that her maternal grandmother is named Louise. My father had told me that when Carolyn left the family, my parents were watching the children (my parents were living in Rowland Heights). He took the two boys to Carolyn’s mother house in South El Monte. The mother lived with her second husband, (think his name was) George Westervelt in a trailer along the 60 freeway, off Santa Anita (south side of the freeway) on a construction road. There is now a school on the location. Carloyn had a sister, who was married and had children and took the boys from her mother. The mother was not in good health, and my father said that the grandmother had a metal plate in her head from an accident. A year or two later, Carolyn had contact the paternal grandmother, Anna, who was raising Lisa about getting her back. Anna (the grandmother) does not remember where the letters were from, maybe from Montana, Idaho or Utah. Any information is most welcomed. 1. Partial 1870 Census for Kern County...
    2. Edward A. Black, Sr.
    3. I have just transcribed part of the 1870 Census for Kern County, CA. It covers the first of six townships. This first township covers a postal area of Harilah. I hope to to complete Kern County's 1870 Census by transcribing the remaining 4 townships in Inyo County that were part of the Census that year in the near future. I am letting the subscribers to the Kern list that a link will eventually be included on the Kern County CAGenWeb site. The link is: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/census/files/ca/kern/1870/ I believe it will ba a log of help to the researchers to have it online. Future Townships will cover the areas of Bakersfield, Tehachapi, Linns Valley & Kernville. I will be continuing my transcriptions to get these areas on line as soon as I am able. Sincerely, Edward, Sr.

    3. I have just completed transcribing the 1870 Census for Inyo County, CA. It covers four Townships - the Bishop Creek, Cerro Gordo, Independence & Lone Pine Townships. I was a dedicated effort on my part to provide something to help the researchers in California - thos with an interest in the Inyo County area. I am letting the subscribers to the Inyo list know and the CC for Inyo County CAGenWeb know so a link, if desired, can be included on the Inyo County, CAAGenWeb site.
