I'm searching for information on the origins of my gggrandfather, William Snow, who was born in South Carolina about 1803. He moved in his youth (possibly with his parents) to Madison County, Alabama, where he married Mary Clapp. They reportedly lived with the Cherokees in northeast Alabama during the 1820's. Shortly before 1830, they relocated to Calloway/Graves County, Kentucky. During the Civil War, they moved north to Illinois, returning to Kentucky afterwards. William and Mary had eight children: Calvin Neely Snow, Eliza Jane Snow Alexander, John Washington Snow, William Pitman Snow, Green P. Snow, Francis Marion Snow, Sylvester Franklin Snow, and Mary E. Snow. William and Mary are reported to have converted to the LDS Church near the end of their lives. We have no information on when or where they died. Any information that anyone can add to the above, particularly leads on William's forebears, would be very welcome. Tom Snow
