My book, "Snow Family of Upper South Carolina," is finally at the printer. The book includes about 5,000 descendants and other relatives of Barksdale Snow (c1786-1854) of Greenville District. The book contains research that family members started gathering in the 1920s. I've been gathering information since 1968. This 6 x 9" hardcover book will have 710 pages (including the front pages and index) and 215 photographs. I ordered 550 copies of the book and am sending letters in the next few days to nearly 850 relatives. If you think you might want a copy of the book, please let me know as soon as possible. I will fill the first 550 orders I receive. If your check arrives after all the books have been sold, I'll mail your check back to you as soon as possible. If your name is in the book, you probably already know it. I will be glad to check the index for a few names you might be interested in. If I receive your check before May 15, you can buy books for $25 each, which is slightly less than the printing and shipping cost I have to pay. The books will be available at our 50th Snow Reunion at Sharon Methodist Church near Reidville, S.C., on July 22-23, 2000. If you can pick up the book there, you won't have to pay mailing cost. If you want me to mail the book to you, please include an extra $4 for postage and the mailing envelope. The books that must be mailed will sent to you during the last week of July or first week of August. If your check will arrive after May 15, the books will cost $35 each (plus mailing cost, if any). If any books are left over, they will be for sale at the reunion. The cost there will also be $35, but I will have to add S.C. sales tax to the price.
