For etymological purposes SNOW SNOWDON SNIDOW SNIDER SNEAUX SNAW SHAW CNOW etc and soundex are included in this SNOW research group - I am researching interconnections of SNIDOW or SNOW families -some puzzles & Many thanks to Irene HELM and Samuel K HELMS and many others per below: PRILLIAMAN, Jacob Sr ~1750 VA USA and collaterals, or connections per WEBB, Mary -born ~1780 Virginia USA had 7 kids by Thomas HELM WILKSON, Lucy -b~1760 Virginia USA also WILKES BRYANT, Ann -b~1760 Virginia USA dates approximate also O'BRYAN SNIDOW, Phillip ~1760 Virginia USA - see the names SNOW and SNIDER TURNER, Jane (see below) MARTIN, John (see below) - may be collateral to BAXTER HELM, Thomas -b~1780 Virginia USA see WEBB etc below HELMS, Malinda -b 1844 Franklin Co VA USA From:IREN@aol.com Iren Helm It is known that Thomas HELM,, born 1773 and d 1854 was bound out to Jacob PRILLIAMAN Sr.& his wife Walpurga at ~ age 7 after his father died and his mother was unable to care for him and his brothers. He stayed with them until he was 21 then out on his own. Whether they were related is not known, but they may have been. Jacob and Walpurga had children as follows. Jacob 2nd, married twice; first wife Barbara SNIDOW was sister of Phillip SNIDOW:; John b about 1754, also married twice. Second wife was Lucy WILKSON; Daniel 1st b.1758, married Ann BRYANT; Barbara b 1764 married Phillip SNIDOW, brother of Barbara. Thomas HELM was married 4 times. His first wife was Mary WEBB. His second wife was Elizabeth Prilliaman. Marrage bond to her issued 8-7-1808, marriage book 1 from 1788 to 1853, Franklin County, Rocky Mount VA. Thomas HELM posted surety himself. and Willaim Smith was Minister. Elizabeth Prillamin = daughter of Daniel Prilliaman SR. & Ann BRYANT, was born 1788 and died in 1812 at age 22. Thomas HELM had 13 children. Seven were by his first wife Mary WEBB. They are: Nancy HELM, married James LITTREL; James HELM, married his cousin Mary WEBB; Sarah HELM, m: David (son of Daniel PRILLIAMAN & Ann BRYANT); Barbara HELM, married cousin William HELM eldest son of Adam HELM and Constance WEBB John HELM jr married Sally LIVESTAY in May 1802; Fleming HELM, married Elizabeth PRILLIAMAN in `1828. She was daughter of Jacob PRILLIAMAN 3rd and wife Nancy SNIDOW. Lucy HELM, m John SNIDER in 1827. While married to his first wife Mary WEBB, Thomas bought 132 acres of land from Jacob BRYANT Jr. and later bought additional land from him. First purchase of land appears to be the same as that which was originally land where Jacob PRILLIAMAN Jr's fathers home was located. Thomas HELM bought all 1000 acres of the PRILLIAMAN land by 1818. Two of the 13 children were born to Thomas HELM and Elizabeth PRILLIAMAN Helm: Daniel HELM, b 1809, married Jane TURNER; Mary (Polly) HELM, born about 1810/11, married John MARTIN .
