    3. Hi Susan, Ernie Christensen, here in Fort Myers Florida: ie MouseMHS51@ aol.com The Sarah Snow who m. Samuel Smith is well documented in the following publication: Austin, Stephen, Mayflower Families Through Five Generations: Descendants of the Pilgrims Who Landed at Plymouth, Mass., December, 1620. Volume Six Family of Stephen Hopkins Published by General Society of Mayflower Descendants. 1992. 713 pages with every name index and place index. This volume may be obtained by writing the GSMD, 4 Winslow Street, Plymouth, MA 02360. The first edition was $35.00 and since then a 2nd edition has been issued & not sure if the price went up. It is a very well written book and is part of a series now up to 12- 15 volumes all dealing with Mayflower passengers. The eventual goal of the Five Generation Project is to issue volumes for all Mayflower passengers. Unlike many family histories these books are well documented with sources listed at the end of each entry. The volumes are found at most county level genealogy libaries, may be loaned through the New England Genealogical and Historical Society if you are a member. If you only wish those pages dealing with Sarah Snow I have the volume in my library and would be willing to send them along snail mail <Oh for a scanner!!!!!> A synosis follows: p 61-63 Stephen Snow (3) Joseph (2) Nicholas Snow (1) & Constan ce (2) Hopkins Stephen (1) Stephen Snow (3) b. Eastham 24 Feb. 1681; there not long bef. 8 Aug. 1769. He m. Eastham 12 July 1705 Margaret Elkins, b. Salem 26 April 1683; d. prob. Eastham bet. 18 March 1771 and 13 April 1773, dau. of Thomas and Sarah (Gutch) Elkins. Stephen Snow was called "Jr." in his marriage rec. to distinguish him from his uncle Stephen. This Stephen was mentioned in the 1717 will of his father Joseph Snow. He was a mariner at Eastham, called yeoman at death. Administration of the estate of Stephen Snow, late of Eastham, was granted to Stephen Snow 8 Aug. 1769. An inventory of 2 Oct. 1769 was taken by Silas Snow, Isaiah Higgins and James Snow. A second inventory of 18 March 1771 was taken by Silvanus Snow, Joseph Pepper and Isaiah Hopkins. An account by the administrator on the same day mentioned the widow's thirds, indicating that she was then living. The settlement of of estate on 13 April 1773 mentioned sons Stephen and Robert, both of Eastham, yeomen; heirs of son Elkins, deceased; dau. Margaret Loverin, widow; daus. Lydia Mott, Ruth Smith, Mercy Smith and Sarah Smith; and heirs of dau. Jane Smith, deceased. 10 Children listed (Snow) all rec. Eastham iv. About 1742 <probably not this Phebe as her father removed to Duck Creek, Delaware> Phebe Snow b. prob East 8 Nov 1740 dau Stephen Snow Jr. and wife Rebecca Phebe Snow b. Eastham 28 Aug 1754 dau David Snow and Priss illa (Sparrow) Phebe Snow b. Eas 6 Mar 1750 dau Samuel Snow & Elizabeth (Freeman) Your indication that "you have a Reuben Smith b. March 1747 Eastham, MA. died 29 March 1826 Sandisfield, Berkshire Co., <ok for the b. of Samuel Smith above> m. 6 March 1750 Eastham, MA Phoebe Snow b. 6 March 1750 Eastham, MA, d. 39 march 1815 Sandisfield, Mass. " <doesn't fit well as if Reuben Smith was b. in 1747 he would have only been 3 when m. 6 March 1750 which is the same day Phoebe was b. most likely a typo ???> However, this entry does offer some clue to Rueben's wife Pheobe. At this point it would be helpfull to know how you determined that the Rueben Smith and Phebey Snow who removed to Sandisfield, MA are indeed our Rueben and Pheby from Eastham. Do you have any documentation to link these folks together? If so, would appreciate knowing what were, as I have long suspected that they might be this couple. If we can document that the Phebe (Snow) Smith was indeed b. 6 Mar 1750 then its very possible that she is the dau. of Samuel (4) Snow, Jabez (3-2), Constance & Nicholas (1) and his wife Elizabeth (Freeman). If this is correct and hopefully documentation can be found in Probate to confirm, you would have added several generations to the Snow Family of Nicholas and Constance (Hopkins) Snow genealogy. Samuel Snow and Elizabeth are second cousins . Elizabeth (5) Freeman's paternal line is Samuel (4-3-2-1) her maternal line goes Elizabeth (5) Freeman Mary Paine (4) John (3) Thomas (2-1) and braches out with Mary (2) Snow who m. Thomas (2) Paine to Constance & Nicholas (1). Further links to Plymouth Colony Governor Thomas Prence and links to William Brewster Mayflower Passenger are also in this early Plymouth Colony line. From the Vital Records of Sandisfield to the Year 1850 by Capt. Elizur Yale Smith <published 1946> the following records are found: <But not very complete> p 57 Births Smith Reubin and Phebe (Snow) Sarah, born Aug. 29 ____ Freeman, born July 30_____ Barnabas, born ___________ Phebe, born ______________ Reubin, born ______________ Betty, born _______________ Daniel, born_______________ Mary, born _______________ Sparrow, born____________ <note she is identified as Phebe Snow in this VR, such as it is> p 87 Marriages Reubin Smith and Jemima House, Nov. 25 1770 < Wondered if this was the same Reubin above????> p 57 Births Reubin and Jemima (House) Frances, b. ____ _____ Jemima, born June 13, _____ Hendrick, born November 18, _____ <However, with three children born after m. in Nov 1770 and Reuben Smith and Pheby Snow m. in March 1771 it seems like we are dealing with two different Reuben Smiths, in Sandisfield> p 104 Deaths Phebe Smith, wife of Reubin, Mar. 30, 1815 <which matches your information> p 105 Mrs. Reubin Mar. 29, 1826 aged 79 years. <This is a strange entry. It can not be our Phebe (Snow) Smith as she is identified on p. 104 (above) having passed on in 1815. Your information indicates 29 Mar 1826 is the death date of Reubin. However, the entry does say Mrs. Reubin which could be the wife of the other Reubin who m. Jemina House. It also could be a scribner's error for Mr. Reubin Smith, if you add 79 years to Reubin Smith birth you come up with a death year of 1826. I suspect it is a death record for Jemina House who m. a Reubin Smith. <One would have to go back to the original records and review the entry, or check with cemetery records of Sandisfield if they have been printed. Did not find any other Death entries for any Reubin Smith in the Sandisfield VR a copy of which is part of my home library. Will look foward to you reply regarding the place or places where you found your data. Best regard, Ernie
