Looking for parents and siblings of Samuel Snow who married Jane ?.Samuel died in 1909 Osage Co. Ks. Jane died may 1898-Osage Co Ks.They had a son named Samuel Asbury Snow who married Bertha Plettner in Osage Co. Ks in 1895.Their oldest son is also buried in Osage Co. Ks. His name was Samuel Joseph Snow (Joe). Two of their children wound up in Colorado: Wesley and Pearl May Snow Leavitt-Galley.
My g grandfather was Joseph Lorenzo Snow b. 21 Nov. 1840 (Mason Blitz VA or W. VA) He served in the Civil War and ended up in Texas Co., MO. He married Pamela Hunter in 1866 and they had 10 children who I know. One letter says he was an apprentice at an early age but not adopted. His picture looks like the Lorenzo Snow of the Mormon Church but I can go no further. He was a Baptist Preacher and started a church in Texas Co, which still stands today with a big cemetery. I would sure appreciate any help for I am against a brick wall.
I am descended from David Harold Snowden, b 1841 in Pughtown, Brooke, WV. He died Mar 24, 1905 probably in either Rice county or Reno county, KS. He married Mary (Min) Elizabeth Falconer Dec 2, 1875 in Sugargrove, Warren, PA. David's parents were William Snowden, Jr and Mary Elizabeth (Polly) Pugh. Min Falconer was born Apr 26, 1851 in Sugargrove, Warren, PA and died Jan 4, 1943 in Sterling, Reno, KS. Min's parents were Robert James Falconer and Mary Sill. Min later married Amo Phillips and then George C. Lyon. David and Min had two children: Mary Elizabeth (Bessie) Snowden (my great grandmother who married William Wallace Hamilton) (1877-1957) and David Harold snowden, Jr. (who married a woman named May) (1889-?). I am looking for a more complete date of birth for David Harold Snowden, a death date for David, Jr. and would welcome any information on any other members of the family. Thanks for any help you can give! Hi Lori, Ernie C , in Fort Myers, Florida blamy 76 degrees There is a typscript publication located in the Maine State Library, Augusta, Maine, called From Snow to Snow by James G. Snow. James Snow, Publisher, New York, New York 1984. Since this line did not seem to relate to the Snow Line I'm working on I only copied about 20 pages from some 70-80 pages. I would suggest you write the Maine State Library <which has a great genealogy collection> I doubt if they participate in Inter Library Loan, but if they do you can go to your local library and request the manuscript through you local library. But I strongly suspect they will not lend manuscripts. Hense, you might try seeing if they will copy it and at what price. If they are reasonable, say 10c a page the total might come to about $10.00 Below are some pages which I copied. I'll be happy to copy them at the local copy place and send you what I have. It could save you some cash by sending the library the pages you have copied and only ask that they copy what you don't have. Anyway here is some of the data I extracted. <data enclose as such are my comments> p 60 Example of Snows in the Harbor Grace Anglican Register 1850-1867 <not sure this is a complete list> SNOW Haror Grace, Anglican. 1855 Charles/Frances had son John Charles 1856 George/Mary has son Nathaniel 31st May Charles/Frances has son William 13th November 1857 Henry/Mary Ann had daugher Martha 15 March. Their marriage and the baptisms of 8 of thier children were recorded in the Harbour Grace Roman Catholic Parish Registers. My daughter, Linda Snow Westover, has some info on these folks. We are descended from the original Richard Snow (1645, Woburn, MA) and have been compiling info on all of the original Richard Snow's descendants. I will send a copy of this to my daughter, but she is out-of-town for the next couple of weeks. Don Snow At 08:33 PM 1/19/98 EST, you wrote: >I am looking for any descendants of Rev. Simeon SNOW. Ernie, The book's price has not gone up since the second edition was printed as I ordered it this spring. It is availibale from Hearthstone Bookshop, which has a site on the web, for 35.00 along with most of the other volumes in the series. Hearthstone is a great store for these kinds of books. They ship fast, and cheap. This is who i ordered from to get this book. The website is : www.hearthstonebooks.com . Enjoy! D.
