Hi again I have been asked by a member if I would mind if the SNOWDEN / SNOWDON names break away from the SNOW list. I have no problem with this, as long as the group does not mind. Please give me your input. I have asked at Rootsweb if it is alright. I'm awaiting a response from Tim. If he says it's a go, and you as a group want it. Then we will split the list. Please send your response ASAP so If we get the Go ahead we will already know what you want. Hi SNOW family As most of you may have seen in Tim's letter to the list, Harold Helm is no longer a RootsWeb member, and doesn't manage this list any longer. I have offered to take over and Tim has accepted my offer. My name is Debi K. and I'm glad to be here. I was already a member of the SNOW-L list. My paternal grandmother was a SNOW and I enjoy this list very much. I don't remember too much about the rules and things that Harold had on this list, I however have NO extra rules. We will be going by the Rootsweb rules, which are few. No attachments or HTML (which are filtered by Rootsweb now anyway) Be nice and have fun. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to write me at the address below. I will be happy to help you any way I can. Now let's all get back to finding our ancestors. Thanks, and good luck Debi K. mailto:schbusdrv@thegrid.net Proud sponsor of "ROOTSWEB"
Please let us all know, as I have William Snow of Plymouth, too, and have not heard of the book. Hi All! I am looking for a copy of a book published in approx 1908 published by Edward Horton Snow. It gives a list of descendants of William Snow who landed at Plymouth, Mass in 1635. My Library system neither has a copy or can get one. If you have this book or know where I can get one please let me know. Maggie
Hi, I'm researching Snowdens and would prefer a separate list. Thanks, Susan
Harold Helm is no longer a RootsWeb member, and doesn't manage this list any more. We're looking for volunteers to replace him; please send me mail if you're interested. You do not need to be a RootsWeb Sponsor. Harold may want to set up replacement lists at another site. If and when that happens, we'll let you know where the new lists are and how to subscribe. That way, anyone who prefers his way of doing things can unsubscribe from this list and join him in his new enterprise. It's up to you. Sorry about the inconvenience! We'll try to make this transition as smooth as possible. Regards, Tim Pierce RootsWeb Genealogical Data Cooperative system obfuscator and hack-of-all-trades
Hi Gang, I think I've finally got the right line of Snows for my husband. It looks like this: William 1624 + Rebeckah Browne William II 1662 + Naomi Whitman William III 1697 + Mary Washburn James 1729 + Mary Edson Eliab 1759 + Dorcas Churchill Churchill 1794 + Eunice Bolton Eliab 1827 + Lydia Bisbee Hannah Augusta 1879 and George Henry Morrill The line started and ended in Mass., but don't know about James and his son Eliab. If anyone has info on this line, please let me know so we can exchange data. Thanks, Sue Martin
Hi Everyone, Is there anyone here researching the name SNOWDON in Northumberland and Durham, England? I have checked the archives of this list and didn't find any so was just wondering if anyone here is actually researching this name. Thanks Jayne
To further clarify Delaware and Mayflower Families, Stephen Hopkins' Mayflower Families book follows the descendants of those who came to Plymouth. The "Mayflower Families, Vol. 6, 1st edition. Now a later 2nd edition has come out with corrections. In this book he follows the family of Stephen Hopkins through 5 generations. His daughter, Constance by his first wife, married Nicolas Snow at Plymouth, Massachusetts. They had 12 children one of which was John B. Snow. John B. Snow married Mary Smalley and they had 9 children one of which was Isaac. Isaac married Alice Unknown and by 1720 had moved to Delaware where William B. Snow was born. To follow just one passenger, Constance Hopkins, took me to Delaware, North Carolina. I followed the line through Tennessee, Arkansas to Washington and later to Alaska where I am now. Probably the first 12 children stayed pretty close to Plymouth but by later years the descendents were in Maine, Connecticut and many more "states". How many people were on the Mayflower? Seeking to confirm parentage of Bethia SNOW, born in Harwich, Barnstable, MA on 9 Sep 1773, and died 27 Sep 1855, and is buried in Unity, Waldo, ME. She married on 13 Jul 1792 in Harwich, MA Thomas NICKERSON, b. in Chatham, Barnstable, MA on 3 May 1773, and died on 23 Sep 1839, and is buried in Unity, ME. I believe that Bethia's parents are Thomas SNOW, b. 19 Nov 1735 in Harwich, MA, and Hannah (LINCOLN) SNOW, b. 23 Apr 1738 in Harwich, MA. They married there on 31 Jan 1760. Thomas SNOW was son of Nathaniel and Thankful (GAGE) SNOW. However, evidence to confirm this link is circumstantial. Need proof!! Thanks! Dave Pettee at DApettee@aol.com.
