    3. Marie, Thanks for asking. I'm sorry, I should have given more details. Isaac Snow b. 16 Feb 1726 Bridgewater, Plymouth, MA. d. Apr 1789 Haverhill, Essex, MA. m. 8 Sep 1748 Bridgewater, Plymouth, MA to Elizabeth Bowditch b. 27 Mar 1724 Braintree, Norfolk, MA. d. 4 Noc 1783 Haverhill, Essex, MA Son : James Snow b. 24 Sep 1756 Haverhill, Essex, MA d. 19 Aug 1839 Landaff, Grafton, NH m. 8 Oct 1778 Haverhill, Essex, MA to Ruth Hall b. 5 Mar 1757 Haverhill, Essex, MA d. 22 Feb 1830/36 Landaff, Grafton, NH James and Ruth Snow had 10 children, 1st born in Haverhill, Essex, MA Next two b. Haverhill, Grafton, MA and the rest were born Landaff, Grafton, NH 5th child: Mary Snow b. 20 Dec 1789 Landaff, Grafton, NH. According to our assumptions this Mary Snow, grandmother to George F. Clark, would have been married to a Clark. George F. Clark was born in Haverhill, Grafton, NH. His father Daniel Clark [we believe a Junior from signatures on land records] was born 1812 in Landaff, Grafton, NH, m. in Haverhill, Grafton, NH. to Harriet N. Jones b. 1813 in Haverhill, Grafton, NH. The Daniel Clark [Junior?] family migrated to Wisc. and to Iowa. Looking for that one generation between Daniel Clark [Junior?] and his connection to what appears to be his mother as Mary Snow and father ???? Clark ?. Hope someone can clear this up for us. 2. Marcia, Hi! My 3rd Great Grandmother was a Snow. Her name was Sussanah and she married David Blanton in Morgan County in 1824. Her fathers name was Thomas Snow and her mother was a Gooch or Joslin. I believe the Joslins may have been part Indian. I don't know about the Gooch family. She and David Blanton moved to Cass County Texas, and remained there for the duration of their lives and are buried there in TX. Many of their descendants remain in TX, (Blantons) however ,my branch came to California in 1937. My website is http://hometown.aol.com/j7gwilcox/myhomepage/heritage.html I would very much like to know how I can find out the origin of the Snow family and if they were in fact Indian, my Sussanah, that is. Do you have any other information regarding any other Snows, where they were originally settled, Or if they have many branches? It is nice to meet another Snow researcher. Jenelle Blanton-Wilcox :D TO BE ROOTED IS PERHAPS THE MOST IMPORTANT AND LEAST RECOGNIZED NEED OF THE HUMAN SOUL !

    1. [SNOW-L] Snow book for sale
    2. Britt & Wanda Franklin
    3. My book, "Snow Family of Upper South Carolina," is finally at the printer. The book includes about 5,000 descendants and other relatives of Barksdale Snow (c1786-1854) of Greenville District. The book contains research that family members started gathering in the 1920s. I've been gathering information since 1968. This 6 x 9" hardcover book will have 710 pages (including the front pages and index) and 215 photographs. I ordered 550 copies of the book and am sending letters in the next few days to nearly 850 relatives. If you think you might want a copy of the book, please let me know as soon as possible. I will fill the first 550 orders I receive. If your check arrives after all the books have been sold, I'll mail your check back to you as soon as possible. If your name is in the book, you probably already know it. I will be glad to check the index for a few names you might be interested in. If I receive your check before May 15, you can buy books for $25 each, which is slightly less than the printing and shipping cost I have to pay. The books will be available at our 50th Snow Reunion at Sharon Methodist Church near Reidville, S.C., on July 22-23, 2000. If you can pick up the book there, you won't have to pay mailing cost. If you want me to mail the book to you, please include an extra $4 for postage and the mailing envelope. The books that must be mailed will sent to you during the last week of July or first week of August. If your check will arrive after May 15, the books will cost $35 each (plus mailing cost, if any). If any books are left over, they will be for sale at the reunion. The cost there will also be $35, but I will have to add S.C. sales tax to the price. 2. My gr. grandmother, Margaret Jane Rogers Snow (1821, TN - 1886, Caroll Co., AR) was not buried in the Snow Cemetery of Carroll Co., AR, because she was Cherokee, even though her husband founded the church and school. Her father, Andrew Rogers (c1800 - 1836, TN), was said (on several Eastern Cherokee applications for surname Tillery around 1907) to have been the son of Captain John Rogers. He was actively involved in the treaties of the early 1800s to give up Cherokee lands in TN and GA for lands in AR and then OK. This could have been Chief John Rogers (~1776-1846, Washington, DC), who served as interpreter for the treaty parties to Washington, DC. This would have been the same John Rogers who had land and a store in Ft. Smith, AR and later a saline spring near Chouteau, Mayes Co., OK. Any comments or help on this would be appreciated. 3. Need help with my Snow line. SNOW, Alvah B., b. abt 1854. m. Charlotte "Lottie" Brown/Brawn on 28 Nov 1872 in Penosbcot (as per LDS IGI files). According to City directore of 1882, lived in Gardiner. Also in the 1880 Cenus, he was listed there. Worked as a logger and a logging river man. (i.e. floated logs down river to the files) He was even mentioned in the Kennebec Reporter and the Gardiner Home Journal back in 1881 and 1882. Later in 1882, moved to Hiliard WY with family. Unknown parents, siblings, exact date of birth and where. Went on to Australia where he was knighted by Queen Victoria for services rendered to the crown. Moved to Burma where he died in 1923. Whould really like to get though the brick wall of where he was born (Kennebec County?), who his folks were?, who his sisters and brothers (if any) were. Could there be anyone with info on this problem? Was he born in Gardiner? Where did he come from to Gardiner if not? Who was his folks? Brothers anmd sisters? HELP! I don't know where else to look. Thanks... Dutch

The initials could have been switched but my "O. A." was listed in 1880 census and it hard for me to think that the referenced Archy O. 1. [SNOW-L] SAMUEL SNOW or REBECKAH SNOW PALMER NY 1820's
    2. Unfortunately I have almost no Snow family info. And my search for the past twenty years has thus far not born much fruit. Maybe someday . . . . My Snow ancestor is a woman. Rebeckah Snow (1790 Prov RI -1854 IL) who married to Thomas Force Palmer at Broadalbin, Montgomery Co (today Fulton) NY on May 30, 1815. They moved shortly to Warsaw, Wyoming Co. NY, and in the 1820 census they lived next door to a SAMUEL SNOW. Like the Palmers, he also has children under ten, etc. So I am certain this Samuel was brother of Rebeckah. But who were their parents? Other siblings? I went to Providence RI and did some preliminary research w/o solid results. I have copious Palmer records . . . none tell anything about Rebeckah. I have a family rocking chair, a small mark on the back says TFP-RS May 30, 1915. It was a wedding present to them . . . and has come down to me. My first child was named Rebeckah Snow Burrows . . . so her missing ancestors haunt me to this day! What I do know at this point: Rebeckah Snow b. Oct 1, 1790 Providence RI Names of her parents unknown. I think her father's name may have been Joseph . . . only because she named her first son Joseph Snow Palmer. Rebeckah's family apparently moved to NY sometime between 1790-1815 and . . . May 30, 1815 at Broadalbin, Montgomery Co. NY (in 1838 this became Fulton Co.) she married to Thomas Force Palmer (b. 1787 NJ) whose family had come to Galway, Saratoga Co. NY. These two towns are a very short distance apart. Thomas F. Palmer (I have extensive info on his family & ancestors) & Rebeckah Snow died and are buried at Prairie Center, LaSalle Co. IL 1865 & 1854 and had six children, all born in NY . . . . Margaret McCoon (sp?) Palmer b. 1816 prob. Galway NY. D. unmarr Chatham OH 1832 Lydia Hubbard Palmer b. 1817 NY marr 1839 Orrin Gridley prob. Chatham OH. She died 1903 poss Clear Lake IA. I have names of her children and am researching (with difficulty) her descendants. Joseph Snow Palmer, b. 1819 at Warsaw, Genesse Co. NY (in 1841 this became Wyoming Co), marr. OH 1845, bur at Prairie Center, IL. I have names of his children and am researching descendants, with some luck. Eliza Ann Palmer b. 1822 at Warsaw. Marr 1841 Lorin A. Williams. Both died IA. All desc. have been traced. Chloe Allen Palmer b. 1825 at Warsaw. Marr 1854 Noah Post. All desc. have been traced. Ephraim Milo Palmer b. 1828 Conewango, Cattauragus Co. NY. marr Prairie Center IL 1858 Sarah H. Butler. All desc. have been traced. I have located most descendants of these families, but not all. No desc. so far located know anything of their Palmer/Snow ancestors this far back. None of the above children's names except for Ephraim seem to relate in any way to the family of Thomas F. Palmer. So I have struggled with the source of these names, hoping that they would provide clues to the names of Rebeckah's parents. So far not too much luck. Still, I remained convinced that they must relate to Rebeckah's ancestors. I found in the 1820 Warsaw NY federal census, living next door to Thomas F. Palmer and his wife, Rebeckah Snow Palmer, is SAMUEL SNOW. He has a wife and small children. I have assumed that this Samuel was a brother of Rebeckah. I have yet to find anyone who may be desc. from this Samuel Snow listed in the 1820 Warsaw census. And so briefly that is about all that I know. I went to Providence RI and did research into the family of William Snow, a resident there with an extensive family history at the Prov. Historical Society, but this search did not bear fruit at this point. Any further ideas from the Snow list folks appreciated. Peter Burrows, Annapolis MD (800) 521-6211.

    2. This week I received my new issue, and I see pg. 61: Benjamin Snow, His Book dated 1724. This article concerns a bible belong to Benj. and eventually his descendants of Hardwick, Mass. So this article would certainly be of interest to anyone from that Line. I continue to search for Samuel Snow ancestors/descendants. He was listed in 1820 census, Warsaw, Wyoming Co. NY. Likely b. 1790's possibly in Providence RI, moving shortly after with his parents to vicinity of Montgomery Co. NY. Any ideas appreciated. Peter Burrows, Annapolis, MD
