    2. Snow, Donald R.
    3. Dutch Meyer (or anyone else), if you have any info on Richard SNOW (d. Woburn, MA 1677), I am very much interested. I am a descendant, but we don't know where he was born in England, in spite of what I sent in to the Ancestral File 10 years ago, which has been quoted over and over again, but is probably wrong. We have always thought it was Barnstaple, Devon, England, but that doesn't seem to check out now. Also, we don't know if our Richard is the same Richard that came to Barbados in 1635 since we have no record of what happened to that Richard, nor how he got up to MA, if that's him. Nor do we know his wife, Avis', maiden name, nor where they were married, nor where their first two sons John and James were born. Here is my line from Richard: Richard SNOW -->John SNOW --> Zerubbabel SNOW --> John SNOW --> Zerubbabel SNOW --> Levi SNOW --> Erastus SNOW --> Erastus Beman SNOW --> Eldon Stafford SNOW --> Donald Ray SNOW. Any clues as to who the Woburn Richard Snow really was would be greatly appreciated. As I mentioned above, he is probably NOT from Barnstaple, Devon, England. We are making a database of all his descendants and have verified info on his descendants down several generations. We intend to put this in the Ancestral File and/or the Pedigree Resource Files soon. We have also tracked the ancestry and families of several Richard Snows in England, to see if we can match naming patterns in an effort to identify him, but there is no conclusive evidence so far. Also, if anyone has info on what happened to the Barbados Richard Snow or where he went, please let me know. Thanks, Don Snow At 08:23 AM 9/17/00 , Dutch Meyer wrote: >In case there are anyone who may be interested or connected, here is >some of my line: > >Moses Snow, b. 1781 in Hallowell ME > m. And is it also possible he was the same John Snow who married Elizabeth Lower(y) in Orange Co., Virginia? John Snow of N.C. and Roane County, Tennessee (Rhea Co./Meigs Co.), wife unknown, had children: Richard, Audra, William Lowery Snow, Nancy (m. Michael Selvidge) and others. The names Richard and Audra certainly seem to indicate this John Snow was the son of Frost And Snow. And the name "Lowery" also makes me think this John could be the one who married in Orange County to Elizabeth Lower(y). This is all a lot of supposition, but what does anyone else think about John Davis Snow being the son of Frost? This summary of records is very helpful, I think: http://www.geocities.com/~jcrosswell/snowl.html _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. 2. Nancy Boyd
    3. I think that there were more than one Fielding Snow. I am not related to the Snow family in any sense of the word. The Fielding Snow I know about was the son of a Fielding Snow and Sarah (i dont have her maiden name). Fielding also had a brother Simpson Snow. Sadly Fielding and his wife E. Jane Bodenhamer and their son David all died with in a very short period of time in 1868. Their only daughter, Nancy Snow survived. Simpson Snow his brother died in 1859. Simpson's wife lived to the age of 82 and died in 1892. They had several children. The only reason I took an interest in this Snow family is that Simpson Snow's wife was Judith Dudley, sister to Mary Dudley who married Hugh Boyd in 1829 most likely Mt. Airy N. C. The Boyd family migrated to Indiana and one of their children eventually came to Fremont County Iowa. The reason I think is that his mother's sister was here already the Snows were early settlers of this area. Boyd is my husbands line. So if any one is looking for the families of Simpson Snow and Judith Dudley or Fielding Snow and E. Jane Bodenhamer daughter of D. G. and N. Bodenhamer, I know where they are buried and did a little census research on them. Nancy

    3. I received this private email from another researcher who preferred to remain private: I wanted to take this on privately rather than post to the list. You have received a lot of old and bad information and you have many families mixed up. Frost Snow Sr. married Elizabeth Johnson. One of their many children was named Johnson Snow, but he lived his entire life in Surry Co. NC and thereabouts. The John Snow in Roane Co., TN. is a possible son of Frost Sr., in fact it is very likely that he moved there with his brother Thomas who married Elizabeth Hale Burrus and died there in 1818. Frost Jr. married Elizabeth Ballard, daughter of Thomas Ballard and Mary Elizabeth (Ballard) Ballard in 1783 in Albemarle Co., VA. You will see a lot of old data that will say that he married Elizabeth Fortner/Forkner. Disregard it. It's wrong. Frost Jr. married Elizabeth Ballard. His father Frost Sr. married Elizabeth Johnson, daughter of John Johnson and Eleanor Davis. Hope this helps some. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
