    3. >Samuel Snow lives next door. So if you ever see some NY or RI Snow >connections I would love to hear. Meantime . . . happy hunting :) Peter Burrows Peter, My great great grandmother is Emma Snow. Unfortunately, I don't have much information on her. My mother is looking for the photo of the headstone to see if she can find any dates. Anyhow, Emma SNOW m. Henry MAINES. They are buried in Sheridan, Chautaugua (sp?) NY. They had six children, Jessie (my great grandmother), Leon, Lester, Arthur, Alva (who changed it to Alvin later) and Olive. I remember Olive from when I was a child - early to mid 1970's. Jessie m. Mark KYLER. They divorced, date unknown. My grandmother was born in 1905. Jessie died early 1970's. My grandmother is still alive, but no longer with us mentally. Not that she would discuss her family when she was alive anyhow. I don't think she ever got over the shame of having divorced parents or her father living in sin after the divorce with another women. Most of the information came from my great grandmother via my mother. The majority of these people are buried in Sheridan, NY. I think Mark Kyler is the only one who isn't, besides my grandmother - can't bury the living! Although, I do know gramma has her plot all picked out. Oh, in case this helps, I'm currently in Genesee county. My grandparents moved from Chautaugua to Erie County. Maybe to avoid having to discuss the "premature" birth of my mother! LOL!! If this fits with any information you have or you have suggestions on where to go from here, I'd appreciate it. I'm fairly new to genealogy research. Thanks so much! Annette

    2. Dear Wayne . . Great to hear that your research goes so well. I still am trying to find origins of my: Joseph Snow, lived Providence RI ca. 1790. Daughter Rebeckah Snow b. at Prov. on Oct. 1, 1790. She had a brother Samuel Snow. In 1820 census r. & husband Thomas F. Palmer are in Warsaw, Genessee Co. NY. Samuel Snow lives next door. So if you ever see some NY or RI Snow connections I would love to hear. Meantime . . . happy hunting :) Peter Burrows

    2. Dear Wayne D. Lawton (lawtonwd@aol.com). Your e-m 7-16-97 has surfaced! How is your research coming into Samuel Snow b. 1793 > Francis Snow b. 1811 VT who died E. Pitcairn, NY? I am still seeking info re: Joseph Snow b. ca. 1760 at_____, d_______. In 1790 he likely lived at Providence RI, removed shortly after to vic. of Galway or Broadalbin, NY. Daughter Rebeckah Snow b. Oct 1, 1790 at Providence. Marr. to Thomas F. Palmer May 30, 1815 at Broadalbin Montgomery Co., (today Fulton), NY. In 1820 they lived at Warsaw, Genesee Co. (today Wyoming), NY, where they are listed, with small children, in the 1820 census. On the next 1820 census line is Samuel Snow, wife, small children. Surely a brother of Rebeckah. I continue to research this Snow line. Anyone on the list have any further info? Peter Burrows, Annapolis, MD

    2. I read about the 16th Connecticut Regiment in today's Snow digest. It might also be of interest to Snow searchers to go to <http://165.83.115.136/VFMuster/Index.htm> then go to Continental Army, then to Regiments. There were quite a few Snow people in the 1st Connecticut Regiment; this muster list shows who was at Valley Forge training from December 1777 to June 1778. The 1st Connecticut Regiment was formed 1-4-77 at Norwich of men who were mainly from Windham, New London, and Hartford counties. Among others were Thomas, Ebenezer, and Jonathon Snow. A more complete history of the 1st CT Reg't engagements is offered elsewhere. Thomas (son of Abraham Snow, b. ~1708) was my 3rd g'grandfather. Would like to hear from anyone researching this line.
