I'm decended from a John Snow b. 1812, who was from Giles County TN. John had a brother named Washington, b. 1820 in Giles County, but I don't know if his name was George Washington. John and Washington had eight brothers and sisters. I have the names and dates of birth for Washington's parents as well as all of the siblings. I don't know anything about any of them except John and his decendents. Please reply, or e-mail if you think the lines are connected. I'll be happy to send you everything I have. I would be interested in learning more about your husband's line. Were any of them from West Tennessee? Rick

Dear Jami . . . Your Dec. 7 query was: My name is Jami Snow, daughter of James, Snow, son of Milton Snow, son of Urban Snow, son of Austin Snow. That's as far back as I can go on this side of my family with all the male names. I want to get started on looking up my ansectors and my geneolgy. I am only 16 years old but this has hit me since I turned 15 or so. If anyone can help me then please feel free to e-mail me at chipmunkecu@mail.com. Thanks to anyone... Jami. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Dear Jami . . . Hello to you Miss Snow. I commend you for such an early start into this wonderful hobby of family research. I am 63, married for 33 years, three daughters, one being named in honor of our long ago snow ancestor Rebeckah Snow Palmer. One of our daughters is named in her honor: Rebecca Snow Burrows; she is 31 and lives in NYC. Rebecca has kept her maiden name. Her husband worked in the WTC . . . he was lucky. they have a 20 month old son. I began working on family history and genealogy in my mid twenties, but my parents, and certain grandparents had done much early research long ago, which was a great help to me. And prior to their deaths I talked extensively to them about family history. These notes were all recorded and today are a wonderful source. In any case I wanted to say hello to you young lady. I cannot really help you, but I know that others on the Snow list may be able to . . . and you might add a little more info for everyone, as the more details others have about your Query the better they will be able to consider your questions. You want to add things like apprx. dates, names of spouses, and places. At least for starters that would help others to ponder your problems. For instance in my case, Rebeckah Snow b. 1790 at Providence RI, her parents unknown; She married 1815 to Thomas Force Palmer at Broadalbin NY, they had 6 children, and moved to OH and then to IL, where Rebeckah died 1854 and Thomas 1865. Their children scattered to IL IA and beyond. I have visited their rural graves in a quiet little cemetery in LaSalle Co. IL literally dozens and dozens of times. They would be the grand parents of my grandfather. So their time was long ago . . . but they were real people, lived long lives on the early frontier of Illinois, had dreams. Like all of our ancestors, they were were here! Hard sometimes for us to fathom. Times were so different. It is understanding and realizing these things, appreciating them, learning about our early ancestors, among the many other benefits, that make our hobby such an enriching one. Keep up your interest, and you will be greatly rewarded. This couple woWe wish you the best of luck, and a lovely Christmas holiday, wherever you might be. If Larkin Snow had daughter Rebecca in 1810, then he wasn't born in 1813 to William Snow and Susan Myers. There was a Larkin Snow born abt 1785 to Obediah Snow and Abigail Riggs. He married Elizabeth Norman, however I don't have any information about their having a daughter Rebecca.

But they may just confuse further. It seems possible that your Larkin Snow, born by 1790, wouldn't you think he was probably an uncle or cousin of this one b. 1813? Maybe he was from their family but omitted from the traditional lists. Most of these Larkin Snows trace back to Stephen Hopkins who came on the "Mayflower." But there maybe have been a Larkin Snow who appears in the Snows from Virginia who also moved to the same areas of N.C. and Tennessee. http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=normio1&id=I10937 http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=PED&db=normio1&id=I47562&style=TEXT http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=dmcgarner&id=I1540 http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:685796&id=I34058213 http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:978811&id=I46772151 http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=jamcmichael&id=I3127 This Larkin Snow (from Roane Co., TN.) : http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=PED&db=normio1&id=I47654

It is not a really serious virus except for it's wide distribution already this morning. A couple of significant points. A: get your virus definitions updated as of today B: It's purely an attachment virus ( so simpler to handle) Let's get ahead of this one and avoid the mess we had two weeks ago :-) Best Regards John A Hansen jahansen@qwest.net W32.Goner.A@mm Discovered on: December 4, 2001 Last Updated on: December 4, 2001 at 11:21:17 AM PST W32.Goner.A@mm is a mass-mailing worm that is written in Visual Basic.
