In the 1790-1870 Ohio census there is 92 Smothers listed as head of household. Do you know which county Rachel was from? There was also a lot of Smothers in Illinois, there was even a town called Smothersville. I have a lot of information on the Illinois Smothers, but not much on the Ohio ones.
