    1. [SMOTHERS] Elisha and Dewitt - AR Military Records
    2. Hi again Found these notes to file for Elisha A. Smothers (b1836), son of Elisha M. Smothers (1800-1881) and was curious as to if anyone knows whether he survived the Civil War? It looks as though he may have been captured while fighting for the Confederacy......paroled and taken an allegience to the Union and then possibly fought for the federal troops in the 2nd AR Inf. Any thoughts? May be two different Elishas? Could this be his brother, Elisha McQuinn (b1834)? I have no record of him serving in the Civil War.......but, could be? Secondly, I was curious as to if anyone can claim this Dewitt Smothers? He too, seems to have been confused as to which side he actually wanted to fight for during this conflict! LOL <<Military record: Elisha served with the 27th Arkansas Confederate Infantry during the Civil War. SECOND ARKANSAS UNION INFANTRY SMOTHERS, ELISHA SMOTHERS, DEWIT C. SEVENTH ARKANSAS CONFEDERATE INFANTRY SMOTHERS, D. C.>> Anyone? Bernie
