My earliest "known" ancestor was James SMOTHERS, my 6g-gf, who was divorced by his wife Nancy on 7th March 1840 in Marion Co., KY. Since David was the son of James and Nancy, I guesstimate that James SMOTHERS was born by 176?, in NC?... maybe?
