Abstracts of Virginia James Smother 1675 (wish that I could see this actual record, James and John often look alike) or maybe brothers? Land Plots for Northhampton County, Virginia (Northhampton formed in 1634 from Accawmack) John Smothers N3 1674 (no James here) Gilbert Moore N3 1676, 1744 (there is lots more Moores here also) COPY OF WILL OF JONATHAN SMOTHERS >FILED IN CIRCUIT COURT FOR NORTHHAMPTON COUNTY, >EASTVILLE, VIRGINIA > 28 NOVEMBER 1687 > >#23347 >In the name God Amen.----I, John Smothers, being weake of body, but of >perfect sence and memory due acknowledge this to bee my last will and >testatment. Does anyone have any marriage for a Gilbert Moore and a Smothers? What do we know of the children. Elizabeth married a Dunton, or did his widow? Does anyone have any information on this William, or the other sister, Santecha Smothers? Next I find Richard Smother married Mary Davis, 6 Jun. 1717, Christ Church Parish, Virginia marriages, 1653-1812. (wonder if this could be William Richard Smothers?) 1717Gabriel Smither Christening 29 Sep. North Farnham Parish Richmond, Virginia In 1783, James Moore and John Pickens bought 180 acres of land on the waters of the Middle Fork of the Holstein River joining said Pickens and Andrew Smothers, corner of Smothers land. (Here again is the Moore and Smothers still together, still in Virginia.) Just some thoughts Noah.
