Looking for information and descendants/ancestors of Civil War veteran Dewitt C. SMOTHERS, b abt 1842. Dewitt was living in Greene Co., MO, for the 1870 Census (if you have his census record please forward to me). Military service & pension records indicate Dewitt served both in Confederate and Union infantry regiments from Arkansas. Dewitt moved to Texas sometime after 1870.
