    3. Fr: Cardi2@aol.com There were a lot of trails west. Most of our ancestors went west to get new land in a new area. Be sure and check the four volume set of books on the "Federal Land Series." This shows you where the land offices were opened up and sometimes the names of the people who got the land. Also check the little book :"Ohio Lands" written by the Secretary of State of Ohio. It may now be the internet, I don't know. But it shows the different sections of land in Ohio, including one area for the Virginia Military Tract with the old metes and bounds system of land.
