Hi I was contacted recently by a young girl, trying to trace her Smothers roots. She initially found me because of my Smothers connection to Mountain Home, Baxter Co., in Arkansas. It seems that her descendant, George W. Smothers died there of suicide. His widow moved the family to Chandler, Oklahoma and that is about all that I can surmise from my exchanges with this young woman, Jean. I checked Social Security records and came up with a little data on her great uncles......but, that's about it. This branch should connect to Elisha M. (1800-1881).......just can't figure out where. My guess is that the George W. Smothers shown in the below chart, was probably born circa 1880? Any guesses, anyone? Descendants of George W. Smothers 1 George W.
