Yes Jan, William Harrison Smothers was my ggrandmother, Martha Mary Adelaide Townsend's second husband. Wyly and John were his brothers, along with James Franklin, born in 1837. There was also a sister named Polly Smothers. They were the illegitimate sons of Nancy Smothers & John Pinkston. Nancy was born in either Carroll or Benton County, TN, the daughter of John and Rebecca Smothers. John had another family with Pheobe his wife. They never married, but are all listed in the Benton County census. William Harrison died Jan. 18, 1933 and is buried next to his mother Nancy in Pleasant Hill Baptist cemetery in Benton County, TN.
