Hi to all those who are new to the Smothers List! We appreciate all and any input. We are interested in your genealogical information, as well as any family stories. You may also share tips on genealogy, organization, etc. I would love to find out how to be more organized with my genealogy "stuff!" Anybody care to share how they sort their information? Do you keep it in file cabinets, binders, boxes? Do you sort it by individual or area? Do you print out all you have in your computer, do you put it on disk? What do you do with pictures??? Has anyone published a book (doesn't have to be SMOTHERS)? Come on.......inquiring minds want to know! Karen
Karen I find it easier to keep my line of Smothers in a note book, families together. Each with there own info. Main people have tab on then. Pics of that family & all info I have found is in there section. It's easy to find a certain persons info, easy to take out to work with, or add anything you might find late to the right place in time. Anything that goes into the book is also scanned & saved on the pc. I start with my oldest know Smothers, from there I made files of each child. In these children files, I did the same for there children & so on. Hope this helps. My line, b. early 1800. John Smithers/Smothers & Matilda Sowers Franklin Co. Oh. Children proved from census: Chatarine m. Benjamine Devore, John m. Margaret Smothers, Henry Edward m#1 Mary Jane Smothers m#2 Margaret Schall, Alexander m. Elizabeth Davis, Sarah Jane ( I have found nothing on her.), Mary Ann m#1 Jacob Hoover m#2 Nicholas Ross, & my gr-grandfather Wiliam Henry m. Nettie Jane Frees/Frease As far as I have found they were in only Ohio. Franklin, Seneca & Henry Counties. Anyone with these people? Would like to hear from you if you have Lois Stegal. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Katheo2@aol.com> To: <SMOTHERS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, June 18, 2003 5:09 PM Subject: [SMOTHERS] New list members > Hi to all those who are new to the Smothers List!
