    3. Tonny, There is probably a mistake made some place. The Pleasant Hill Baptist Church is in the southern part of Benton County, TN. This where Nancy Smothers and two of her children were buried. Nancy Smothers 1818-1895; W.H. Smothers 1841-1933; and Polly Smothers 1843-1912. Cora Alice (Baggett) Smothers is buried in the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery in the northern part of Benton County, Tennessee. She is the second wife of James Franklin Smothers. Cora Alice Smothers April 8, 1856- March 27, 1948. J. Logan Smothers, a son of James Franklin and Cora Smothers is buried there also. Feb. 22, 1886-Oct. 18, 1974. James Franklin Smothers is buried by his first wife in the Palestine Methodist Church Cemetery in the southern part of Benton County, Tennessee with a Gov. Marker. Sgt. Jas. F. Smothers born Sept. 7, 1837- died Feb. 10, 1916, Co. E. 7th Tenn. Cav.; Sarah E. Smothers born Aug. 1834-died Sept. 26, 1884. James Franklin Smothers was th Minister of the Palestine Methodist Church at one time and probably why he was buried in that cemetery by his first wife. James Franklin and Sarah Smothers were my great grandparents. E.J.
