Smothers, was born in 'VA or TN'. I found the 1850 census image and it states she was born in VA. Age 48. That census page was written Dec 23, 1850. It is on Genealogy.com in Carroll County, TN. Roll 873 Book1 Page 153b District 18. I also found a reference that states she was Possibly Cherokee Indian, from Jacque Elliott (jay3@hintonet.net). Is it legal to post these images here? Sorry.. I had a brain lapse.. The only information I have about Sarah, wife of Elisha M. Smothers. I show she was born November 19, 1803 VA, died December 17, 1856 Baxter Co., AR. Buried: Fairview Cemetery, Buford, Baxter Co., AR. Married to Elisha Bet. 1818 - 1820 Sumner County, TN.
