Someone back in Feb of 2000 wrote about "The Murders at Frenchmans Knob" involving a William Smuthers and Gilbert LeClerc....I just ran across the paper. I did not have a printer then and my friend printed it out for me, but its printed really strange and I can't read it right...not sure how to explain it...but I am wondering who did this. There is no name and I don't remember. I would be interested in getting a copy of this if its not too much trouble. I do see where it says it came from "Skaggs Records" by Juanita Skagg Luttrell and is a story written by Cyrus Edwards who also wrote history of Barren Ky. Do this sound familiar to anyone. This name William Smuthers is familiar to me as he is located in the 1820 census in Franklin county...this article says he was born in Maryland. I can read that much of it. And apparently this murder might have happened sometime between 1782-1787.
