    3. Anyone familiar with this line?? Reply-To: "The Shick Family" <[email protected]> My GGGrandfather was Commodore Perry Byrd and Mamie Smithers was my GGGrandmother (I think that's right). Her mother was Clanzia Buttram married to Jesse Smithers. Commodore and Mamie's first son was Fred, and his first son was my dad. I am researching both families. 3. Yes Jan, William Harrison Smothers was my ggrandmother, Martha Mary Adelaide Townsend's second husband. Wyly and John were his brothers, along with James Franklin, born in 1837. There was also a sister named Polly Smothers. They were the illegitimate sons of Nancy Smothers & John Pinkston. Nancy was born in either Carroll or Benton County, TN, the daughter of John and Rebecca Smothers. John had another family with Pheobe his wife. They never married, but are all listed in the Benton County census. William Harrison died Jan. 18, 1933 and is buried next to his mother Nancy in Pleasant Hill Baptist cemetery in Benton County, TN. 3. Hi, Long time no hear....LOL. Yes I think that Mary (Smothers) Henry Guinn was living with her daughter and family at the time of her death. I also believe that she is in an unmarked grave in the Goss Cemetery. As far as further information on this line, have you checked out my homepage yet? It can be found at: http://SmothersHenryFamily.homestead.com/ I have a long ways to go with it but it has a little more information that you have currently on the Goss-Henry connection. Of course, I know that I have more, just dont know where yet. I am constantly adding to the site, and I guess I will start making alerts to the list when I do add to the site. Let me know if my homepage is helping you or not. Russ >

    3. Hi Russ Thanks for posting this 1900 census record. So, do you think that Mary Smothers Henry was living in the Goss home when she passed away? Buried in the Goss Cemetery, so one would think so, right? I had a child born to this couple.....Ethel May Goss (b1888) and she's not shown in this 1900 census that you posted. Did she pass away before the census? Based on this census record, this is what I have for this family, revised: Descendants of Arlyn Roby Goss, Rev. 1 Arlyn Roby Goss, Rev. b: November 1836 in North Carolina .. +Sarah Jane Henry b: February 09, 1851 in Carroll Co., Tennessee m: January 20, 1868 in Webster Co., Missouri d: November 12, 1925 in Webster Co., Missour Burial: Goss Cemetery-Webster Co., Missouri ......... 2 McCune Henry Goss b: November 23, 1869 d: in Reno, Nevada ......... 2 Ransom Greenfield Goss b: November 23, 1870 ......... 2 Rosetta Goss b: October 03, 1873 ......... 2 David Goss b: January 1876 in Missouri ......... 2 Roby Alfred Goss b: November 1877 in Webster Co., Missouri d: 1967 ............. +Susan Abigail Silvey b: February 23, 1887 d: December 21, 1963 .................... 3 Loretta Goss .................... 3 Sylvia "Red" Goss .................... 3 Elizabeth Goss .................... 3 Doyle Goss ......... 2 William Marion Goss b: November 15, 1879 ......... 2 Lou V. 3. Ed, the child that you have listed below: Austin Smothers who married Mary Henry is incorrect. Mary Henry is the daughter of Malcolm McCuen Henry and unknown first wife. Malcolm McCuen married as his second wie, Mary Smothers, dau of Elisha Smothers and Sarah, and she was the sister of Austin Smothers. Malcom McCuen Henry and his family and that of Austin Smothers, made the migration westward to Marion Co., AR with that of Elisha Smothers. - --------------------------------------------------- Click here for Free Video!! http://www.gohip.com/freevideo/ ----- Original Message ----- From: Ed Oxford <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, November 25, 2000 7:45 AM Subject: Re: [SMOTHERS] Smothers /Pinkston > Jan: > I believe that I can shed some light on Green B. 3. Hope this helps My g g g granddad Gillum Smothers was married to Sina Pinkston. There is a G.B. Smothers (5-15-1826 to 4-7-1856) buried in Antioch cemetary #1. there is also a Martha J.(11-22-1856 to 3-5-1861) daughter of G.B. and Martha Smothers. I ran across a note that the will of Green B. Smothers - Martha wife is in book A page 260 in Carroll Co. Tn. There is also a note that Green Smothers married Martha Pinkston 10-22-1845 the name Joshua Butler also noted but I am not sure if he was the bondsman or person performing the marriage. Jacob Smothers married Deliah Pinkston 4-5-1846, I have Green B. age 24 and Martha age 20 in the Carroll Co. 1850 census with children Frances J. 4, Mary A. 3, Nancy C. 1
