    3. Hi all .... I have just taken over this list and see there is only 12 of us subscribed to the list so it shouldn't be such a burden to introduce ourselves and give out Smithe connections. I have two Smith(e)/Smythe branches in my family tree. One goes back to the Smithtown Smith(e)/Smythes and are English. The other is Scot and my first name is James Smith(e) who was a printer in New York City in the very early 1800s. I don't know yet if he emigrated from Scotland or his father....he had one son I can document, Thomas, who was born ca 1809, lived first in NYC, then Williamsburgh section of Brooklyn and then Yonkers. He married Amanda Smith(e) (Smithtown branch) and they had many children. He also was a printer, journalist and publisher and had his own daily newspaper in Yonkers for a few years. My goal is to link a number of siblings to Thomas and to find if James was born in NY or Scotland. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA, list admin http://www.connorsgenealogy.com All outgoing mail virus free, scanned by Norton

    3. Hi!! Thanks for the contact. My Father was John Smythe, emigrated from Belfast, in the 1920's or early 30's. All I know about him, and having a devil of a time trying to find out anything else! I shall certainly keep your email, and if I EVER have more info, -or if you do-, please contact me. Many thanks, Joan ----- Original Message ----- From: "ConnorsGenealogy" <nymets11@pacbell.net> To: <SMITHE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, June 06, 2004 7:00 PM Subject: [SMITHE] new list admin > Hi all ....
