Thanks to all who are posting SMITHE, and NOT SMITH, as I believe all Smiths are a Separate list. My ancestors were SMITHE from Louisiana. Any one with that spelling in Louisiana? His name was George W. Smithe b. Dec 18, 1838 D. April 18, 1972,married Mary Heloise Larche in 1863. He was buried at Lake Providence,LA on their Cottonwood Plantation grounds.He served in the Civil War. That is about all I know about my great-great grandfather. Any help appreciated.
