Michael's parents were Patrick Smith (who was known as Paddy) and Joyce Bannister. Michael's possible grandfather was Frederick Smith, who married a Lorrian Griffiths in County Cavan in Ireland. I am unsure if these ancestors here below are related to my family, but I know the Smith family from Corick (or a place that sounds like Corick) in Cootehill in County Cavan in Ireland are a large catholic family in Northern Ireland that are related to my family over here in Malvern Link, UK. I do not know if any of them move onto Cananda, it is possible. I have also found a James Thomas Smith who married an Alice Smith maiden name unknown to me at present and they had a daughter called Alice Mary Smith born 12th July 1887 in Malvern Link. I have another James Smith born about 1791 and he died 19th May 1852 aged 61 in Malvern Link. I hope this might help as I am still gathering information at present from the parish records in Malvern Link. I do not know very much, but so far I know some of my Smith family who came to Malvern Link from County Cavan in Ireland, came during and after the 2nd World War, but some of them could have come earlier or moved onto Canada. My Smith family married into the O'Sheas from Cork in Ireland and Bannisters from Malvern Link in the UK.
