I found my grandfather James Robert Smith in both Michigan and Illinois in the mid 1920's. At one point in 1925 he was living in Chicago and was going to adopt a child by the name of Teddy Manning. Teddy was born around 1922. But for reasons unknown they didnt adopt him. Does anyone on this board have Smith family from either Chicago or Michigan. James father was Charles W. Smith(birth date and death unknown.) When James died in 1937 the family had his death notice printed in the Chicago times. He was born in Cincinnati Ohio, and was living there at the time of his death. So what other reason to have it printed in Chicago then to have family there. Maybe someone can connect. Thanks Rose
