Borden McCoy "Bird" SMITH lived in Sebastian Co,. AR before and during the Civil War - several of his children went to OK and MO. He was born in Knox Co., TN and was killed in Sebastian Co. by a bushwhacker while home on leave from Confederate Service, Bird did have a son named Thomas b in 1840. Interestingly, Thomas served in the Union Army. Sentiments about the war were very divided in Sebastian Co,. AR - even in the same family. Theron Smith.
